Whole30 (Round Two) turned Whole60: Days 1 through 15.

Hey! Happy New Year and Welcome to my blog!

I’m currently on my second round of Whole30 and I wanted to share this journey with you all as well. I made it to day 30 back on January 10, 2020. Before I could make it to day 30 I began to feel as if I should go another 30 days. I’ve talked before about Endometriosis symptoms and how they’ve plagued my life. During my first Whole30 journey, I felt some relief from those symptoms, but my reintroduction phase wasn’t so smooth. Quite frankly, I don’t think I should have had a reintroduction phase, I should have continued to experiment with other changes I could make in my diet to reduce some new and old symptoms.

As I’m writing this post, I’m on day 36 of this journey. I thought I would share some of what I’ve been going through on this round of my journey. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, most of my journey is being tracked on Instagram.

Speaking of Instagram and social media, feel free to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Most of my life is posted more on social media than my actual blog. I think I should switch that around.

December 12, 2019: Day 2

Whole30 Journey Round Two!
Today, I’m actually in day two, but today is the first day I decided to talk about it and why I’m doing it again.

In short, I felt some symptoms returning as a result of the chaotic way that I’ve been eating. I’ll create a blog post about it soon.

I have gained some inches back. Not horribly, but I’ve noticed things feeling tighter. I may have gained weight back but I don’t get in the scale. In fact, I don’t have a scale.
However, my depression has been kicking my butt and the cold weather and dark days aren’t helping.

To add, my endometriosis symptoms started to return. I simply just can’t have that. Not at all. With God’s help, I will complete this journey as I have before and I have plans to try to make this lifestyle a little more permanent.

Follow me on my journey.

This is something I literally threw together and it is tooooo good!
It’s a sweet potato hash made with…
🍠1 large Sweet potato
πŸ₯“3 strips of Sugar-free bacon
πŸ₯©Half a pound of Organic grass beef
1 medium yellow onion
Half of a red and yellow peppers
2 cloves of garlic
Cumin
Tumeric
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Himalayan pink salt
Black pepper
πŸ₯‘I’m out of avocado.
But I topped it with @primalkitchenfoods Chili Lime mayo and OMG! I wanted to lick my bowl!
Did I mention that my eight-year-old son love it too?

Day 3. Today’s whole30 lunch. 🌟 Organic steak fries from @wholefoods with organic grass-fed 93/7 beef topped with organic spinach, grape tomatoes, dill pickles, and @primalkitchenfoods’ chili lime mayo. 🌟 This is similar to my go-to meal the last time I did whole30. Except, I would slice sweet potatoes lengthwise, fry or bake them, and use them as buns. I didn’t feel like doing it this time. 🌟 My day 3 symptoms aren’t as bad as the day 3 of my first round. I think it’s because it was about 4 months ago since I completed whole30 and I pretty much kept the same ingredients in my diet since then. I just added stuff back that I hadn’t had in a long time or just shouldn’t be in the amount that I ate them. 🌟 #HealthBlogger #holisticnutrition #whole30reset #healthiswealthfitness

Whole30: Day6. Non-boring Breakfast. 🌟 Spinach is deceptive! You put about 2 or 3 cups in the skillet, cook it down, and then you end up with what looks like 3 tablespoons. Like, what the heck?! 🌟 Breakfast Breakdown: Leftover 🍠 Sweet potato hash 2 eggs πŸ₯šπŸ₯šfrom pasture raised chickens from @vitalfarms Spinach sautΓ©ed in @fourthandheart ghee. 🌟 #BreakfastIdeas #EasyBreakfast #LeftoversForBreakfast #sweetpotatohash

Y’all! I’m waiting for the “tiger blood” to kick in. It’s late. 🀣🀣🀣 But I’m being a good noodle and I’ve been drinking a lot of water. Not only because I need water, but in hopes that it will help me deal with the healing crisis that I’m going through. That’s why I have headaches, I’m itchy, and the fatigue is a h*e! 🀣🀣🀣 🌟 I’m going on a walk later to pick up my produce from the community share in my neighborhood. I need the walk and it’s a smarter and more affordable way for me to get locally grown produce without going broke. #Whole60 #wholeness #journeytohealth #Fatigue #HealingCrisis

Whole30 Round Two: Lunch! 🌟 Shepherd’s Pie and steamed cabbage with bacon. Yes, I made both. The cabbage and bacon comes from a recipe my mother used to make all he time with cornbread on the side. I do miss that part. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ 🌟 #LetsEat #LetDoWhole30 #W30FFF #W30 #Whole90 #ShepherdsPie #Cabbage #JourneyToHealthy #WeightLossRecipes #HolisticEating #holisticliving #HomemadeMeals #healthymoms #BlackHolisticHealth #HolisticHealthJourney

Whole30 Day 10: Lunch! Mashed sweet potato with sautΓ©ed bacon and onions with kale. It tastes better when the potatoes are roasted on the oven. 🌟 It was delicious and I was sad when it was over, but within the past ten days, I’ve eaten enough sweet potatoes to feed the East side of Cleveland. Not complaining, but it seems to be the thing I’m gravitating towards the most this go-around. #Whole30 #paleorecipes #PaleoLunch #PaleoMeals #Kale #sweetpotato #glutenfreerecipes #healthymeals

About Last night’s dinner… Whole30: Round Two, Day10. (On day 11 as I type this) This is another quick go-to meal when I’m low on time. Or I just don’t want to be fancy with it. I just want to eat. 🌟 That’s the thing about whole30 is that it forces you to really think about what you put in your body. But sometimes, I don’t want to think about it that hard. Especially, when I have work to do, but I don’t want to be mindless about it either. I’ve spent my life eating mindlessly. 🌟 So, I made steak fries with avocado and hot sauce. The steak fries with fried in low avocado oil. Sometimes, I’ll top it with cilantro and/or dill. The hot sauce is whole30 compliant as it’s just vinegar, cayenne pepper, and garlic. 🌟 It’s not perfect, but it works. #W30 #FrenchFries #SteakFries #Whole30Meals #quickandhealthy #AvocadoπŸ₯‘

About Last Saturday… (Whole30 Day 11) today is whole30 day 13. This was my attempt to avoid eating something I wasn’t supposed to while at a Christmas party / Christmas movie marathon with all the foods that I love…. πŸ˜› Yet, I came prepared with this juice, baby carrots, grape tomatoes, and dates. 🌟 No! This didn’t taste like the pie I wanted to eat or cookies the were staring at me from across the room… No,but it was still delicious! I’m ecstatic that @bolthousefarms had a no-sugar-added option in their product line. 🌟 Follow me and my journey as I do Round Two of Whole30. πŸ‘†πŸΎβ€οΈ 🌟 #Gratefulness #bolthousefarms #whole30alumni #nosugaradded #weightlosschallenge #wellnesschallenge #wellnesswarrior

Merry Christmas everyone! πŸŒŸπŸŽ„πŸŽ And Merry Christmas feeling-of-missing-out-on-something-great. 🌟 Although the cravings have diminished, I still want to chase the taste. The disease… the beast that fuels the fire of compulsive overeating still rears its ugly head. I want cake, candy, holiday meals (yes, meal plural), wine, chips, breads, pudding, etc etc… . Okay! So, maybe I am craving? Or I’m lonely. Or I’m bored. Or I actually want to taste a particular food and it’s not apart of my current plan. Therefore, feeling like it’s all or nothing and I want it all! And I just don’t mean food. 🌟 There are a lot of things in my life I want SOOOO badly. I’m working hard…scrambling (actually) to get what I want and when I can’t seem to get it or get close to it, I want the closest thing I can reach… and that’s food. Plus, it’s tradition to eat certain things… But I have a goal in mind. I have to stick it out. I have to make it to 30 days before I can execute the next phase of this plan. 🌟 #MerryChristmas2019 #MerryChristmasπŸŽ„ #Whole30Day15 #HealthGoals #halfwaythere #HalfwayMark #overeating #Whole30 #PaleoEating #HealthyMealPlan

Day 1 and Day15. I forgot to post this yesterday. I was too sleepy and depressed. Today is Day 16. The moment I’m ready to give up is the moment when progress begins to happen. In my health goals and in life in general. 🌟 Last night, depression hit me so hard and I was thinking of all the ways I could give up my goals and dreams because I wasn’t seeing the progress that I wanted to see. 🌟 Yet, I fear quitting and the regret that could come from it. I fear quitting so much that I dreamt that I ate some of my son’s pancakes. In the dream, I felt remorse, humiliation, worry, and anger. I thought I messed up. Which is something that everyone does. However, the dream did reveal to me that I’m super hard on myself. I need grace from God, others, and myself. Even if I were to mess up while on this diet, I can start again. It’s better to start again than to give up. 🌟 #Whole30Results #eatingwell #beforeandafterweightloss #FreshStart #newyearsgoals #2020Goals #HealthyGoals #GutHealth
