This review is sponsored by SoCozy and BrandBacker, and features my 5-year-old son, Vasel (Pronounced vuh-seL).

SoCozy specializes in quality hair care products for kids and they’ve sent my products to review for you all. They also told me to tell you that they are hosting a #SplashHappy Vacation Sweep for a family vacation all on them! Keep reading all the way to the bottom for more info on how to enter.

The Sweet Creme Shampoo:

“A gentle curl cleanser that removes dirt and buildup while reinforcing and preserving curls’ natural moisture balance.” – SoCozy

Did it do what they said it would?

Yes! The shampoo was really gentle on his hair. It gave his scalp and hair a very rich lather and it rinsed away very well from his hair. It didn’t leave his coily hair feeling overly cleansed or squeaky clean or even a weird residue. It didn’t even dry out his scalp. Which is always a concern, especially during the winter months.

The Sweet Creme Conditioner:

“An ultra-hydrating formula that conditions without weighing curls down and easily detangles to prevent breakage and frizz.” – SoCozy

Well, is it ultra hydrating? Does it prevent breakage?

Yep! This is the thickest, creamiest, and most slippery conditioner that I have ever found to work for his hair. I’m not sure if I’ll come across another product that works as well as this, but this stuff is legit! I can easily finger detangle or detangle with a comb with this conditioner. It takes a little while to rinse it all out, but you can still feel a protective layer of conditioner on his hair after rinsing. And it’s very hard to find conditioners that feel like they are still there doing their job.

The Sweet Pea Leave-In Conditioner:

“A multi-purpose leave-in conditioner that repairs curls and infuses them with much needed moisture while preventing frizz.” -SoCozy

Does it repair the curls, Ebony? Did it prevent the frizz? Inquiring minds…

I don’t know about “repairing curls”. However, I did use it after washing and as a refresher. So, it is multi-purpose.

This is a light leave-in conditioner. It is runny. However, you can still feel the conditioner left in his hair after it dries. I sprayed some on his hair prior to getting out of the shower and I did have to apply more to his hair after his hair had dried. I also applied some to his hair prior to putting it in a protective style before bed. It is very hydrating and it did >>reduce<< the frizz.

If I were to give the SoCozy Boing Curl line a star-rating, it would be five stars out of five stars. I’m going to tell you why.

  1. I am elated to finally have found products that really work for his hair. It’s been a real struggle, even with products that cater mostly to natural hair.
  2. The brand really does give attention to the fact that children have specific needs to their different hair types.
  3. The products helped to create a couple of the most tear-free wash days we’ve ever had.
